Prayer Request July 2007

It seems like our present society is solely focused on beauty and other outward appearances. Every where you look, advertisements for enhancing your looks, jewels, diets, clothes and exercise-equipment is at the order of the day. However, any outward-beauty does not even come close to Christ's beauty, reflected through and by the inner-man!

1 Peter 3:4
rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

One of my new found sisters-in-Christ here in New England - Rhonda, a wife and a mother of two girls, 6 and 9 years old - has very recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Please lift up prayers for her as she goes into surgery on Friday (July 6) to remove lymph nodes and colon tissue. The battle will continue for some time after that. Please keep her in your prayers.

1 Peter 3:4 - rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. That's a good verse and sound thoughts for this month's introduction. The heart counts first and foremost. God gets the glory by often using the weak and unlikely instruments to further His kingdom, such as Moses with his temper, and the Apostle Paul with his professed thorn in the flesh and bad eyesight.

FYI I will make it a point to pray for those who are struggling with cancer... whether my mom, Missy's friend Rhonda, or Kristi's aunt.

Father, we lift up Rhonda and her family to you. Please grant her healing and a full recovery and strengthen all of them during this trial, fill their hearts with your love and comfort.

We ask the same for all those suffering from cancer or any other disease, for those who are facing problems in their life, for those who need guidance and leadership and anyone who struggles. Please give them what they need and fill them with your love, grace and mercy. All in accordance with Your will. In Jesus' precious name we ask. Amen!

Please pray for little infant Alethea in Indonesia, the newest little one in the Johnson family. She was re-admitted to the hospital 2 week's ago for jaundice and now, this week, she was bitten in the leg by a spider. Their toddler son Noah is knocking down all the cobwebs in the yard he says. Trevor is a really nice guy. He offered to host me (e.g. room and board) if I come and visit him. Anyway, I hope his little baby girl gets better, and grows up healthy.

Please keep in Lt. Colonel, Richard Leino, USMC, in your prayers. He appears to have the onset of Stargardt disease which could deteriorate to legal blindness. He is brilliant, he has a degree in nuclear engineering, and does so much for his country and family, and he wants to pursue ministry following retirement from the Corps. Blindness would hamper his continued life service for his country and the church. He preaches at the Baptist church in Okinawa where he is stationed. He has went out of his way to help me on computer programming issues, and has freely given me time and services that would cost a pretty penny, he has offered me personal references for jobs, and he even got me in touch with a JAG officer to give me info when I told him I was interested in perhaps being an lawyer in the JAG Corps down the road. He is very generous and humble soul.

I am still lifting up your petitions and prayers. I need to pray that I would me more Christ-like, considerate, and less selfish, and less focused on myself as well.

Father, I pray for rhonda, ryan's mom , kristi's aunt, alethea, lt. colonel leino and my mom too. i pray for your healing power to touch their bodies. i believe and speak that Your Word will not return to you void, but will accomplish what it says it will (Isaiah 55:11). i believe that Your children above are healed by Jesus' stripes according to 1 Peter 2:24. thank you that Jesus Himself took their infirmities and bore their sicknesses (Matthew 8:17). with boldness and confidence in the authority of Your Word, i say that they are redeemed from the curse of sickness and does not have to tolerate its symptoms (Galatians 3:13).

satan, take your hands off of God's property. they don't belong to you. they belong to GOD.

thank you God for sending Your Word and healing. in Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you

Father, heal Rhonda, completely, by your mighty power, and for your glory.

We received this e-mail yesterday:

Greetings,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ the
Prince of peace and the KING of kings.

I am Benete Adelle a 25 years old christian girl, I
don't have a computer of my own, a missionary from
France allowed me to use her computer since she can't

I am writing you this mail to request for your prayers
and help in any way the Lord lay in your heart, to
feed and clothe myself and if possible to re-start my
little poultry farm again and I know that the Lord
shall bless you in return for doing this.

I am recently living with my pastor where we are about
9 people living in a single room. Anything that the
Lord lay in your heart for me will really be of a
great HELP at this point in time as I am seriously
going hunger,Please kindly let me know the help you
can be able to render me so that I can send you where
to send it.

I will be expecting your response. May the Lord bless
you abundantly and grant you success in all your
dealings.

Yours Sister In Christ,
Benete

You guys are such a great comfort. I'm grateful for your prayers for my wife, Lori, and daughter, Catherine as they leave Saturday to work at a mission in Guatemala for ten days.

In another circumstance, friends of ours who recently emigrated from Trinidad are suffering today. Having undergone two previous cesarean deliveries (one successful, one not), this prospective mother had never experienced labor pains. When this baby tried to come early, she didn't know what was happening, and waited too long before seeking medical attention. Consequently, her baby, Ariel, was deprived of oxygen as a result of remaining too long in the birth canal.

The situation has been precarious for a month, but Ariel died yesterday. We pray that the Lord will ease their grief. Moreover, we expect the enemy to use the guilt of "if I had only..." to create despair in this woman. It is a tragic time. Please pray. Thanks. I love you.

We ask your prayers for all our missionairies out in the field. Many are in dangerous and precarious situations, risking their lives, spreading God's Word and leading people to The Lord. May God shield each one of them from harm and open doors to still do their wonderful work!

Father, we lift up this family to You, who just lost their baby.
May You fill them with Your comfort and peace. Strengthen them as they go through this trial. We ask especially for the mother, that You may encourage her with and in hope, love and faith.
All this we ask in Jesus' precious name. Amen!

HI everyone,I have a request for my father-in-law, he had a tooth pulled about 2 months ago and as a result some infection leaked into his sinus cavity. He has many health problems one of which is a blood disorder which causes his blood to not clot normally. Because of this he takes steroids which make him resistant to antibiotics, so this makes it diffult to control infection...back to the infection in the sinus cavity...he will probably have to have an IV of antibiotic put in for a period of 2 months (or until the infection goes away), so long story short, please pray for his healing and for wisdom for his Dr's. Thanks to all!

In Christ,

angela :-)
