Prayer Request November 2009

Thanksgiving is not far away and we have so much to be thankful for. Not one day passes without His blessings; some may be small, others may be huge. It is easy to overlook them and thank and praise Him for all His love and care.

It may not be a bad idea to take some time at the end of the day and reflect upon it. Look for the blessings in all that occurred and you may become aware of some you had not noticed.

May we always be mindful of His goodness and be grateful, give thanks and praise God for all His provisions.

Psalm 75:1
We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Prayer Request October 2009

The look of the Prayer List has changed; it was long overdue in my perception and I hope it is to your likings as well. It took a while before I was able to get around to it. Between work and everyday life, I never seemed to find any time. It took breaking out of the cycle to make a change.

Following in Jesus' footsteps requires making a life-altering change. It takes an effort to break out of the cycle and live life differently. It is never too late and it is never too early to do so, but once that change is made, the reward is beyond imagination.

Psalm 1:3
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Prayer Request September 2009

he trials of life can get too much at times. Problems are being thrown at us and people's words and actions can cause great pain. We can not take vengeance and we can not judge; it is not our place.

We can count on God's protection though and Him watching over us. We can strengthen our faith knowing He will take care of it in His time and in accordance with His will and it will all be for our best.

Psalm 94:22
But the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge.

Prayer Request August 2009

Since we are all human, we will never be perfect in this life. That does not give us a justification to shed ourselves of the responsibility to try and perfect ourselves as much as possible; we still have to do our part. We can be safe and secure in the fact that God will do His!

He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

Prayer Request July 2009

Problems can be overwhelming and consuming at times and the saying: "A hundred years from now, no one will even know or care", may be true, but our words and actions will have an effect on our future generation and therefore on the future.

Let's keep in mind that we lead by example and that the ripple effect of our testimony today, will have an impact on times to come.

Isaiah 40:8

Prayer Request June 2009

We are all unique and with so many different people walking the face of this earth also come many different opinions, thoughts and believes. Pride and arrogance can close the mind, which too often results in disputes, arguments, fights, wars and persecution.

Consideration and an open mind could be very edifying and bring us a little closer to the truth. If we have to do battle then let it be the battle in ourselves, where love conquers pride.

1 Samuel 2:3
"Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.

Prayer Request May 2009

Anxieties..., I think we all may have experienced them. Not knowing what is going to happen next, being concerned and consumed either with the afflictions of others who we care about, or ourselves. The worries and concerns tend to paralyse us and constantly keep us on our toes.

There are situations that we can not do anything about, or are not even our responsibility. God gave us the solution to those circumstances: Faith. It is comforting to know that He has ways and everything will work it out in His time.

Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

Prayer Request April 2009

We may not always realize it, but there are so many things to be thankful for. The blessings God has given us, are numerous. Take the time to stop, look around and count all the blessings you see.

The diversity in beauty and fragrance of each flower. The dancing of the many gorgeous varieties of butterflies. There is one blessing after another and these are just a few of those we can actually see.

Let us not forget to be thankful for all the other blessings. The ones, that can not be seen with the naked eye.

Psalm 21:3
For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.

Prayer Request March 2009

We are constantly 'under construction'. On a daily basis, we fight sinful nature and try to live according to God's word. It is not easy and sometimes, we could use some help, support and encouragement.

All that, we can find in the love and care of our brothers and sisters. But more important is, not to forget the love and care of Our Father. He is always there, more then willing to give us what we need and even then some.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Prayer Request February 2009

Life can be pretty stressful. The things that have to and need to be done, can overshadow the many blessings, that occur throughout the day. Sometimes, we may even totally overlook them.

It would be good to set some time aside and count all those blessings, which God has given us. And let us not forget, the greatest gift and blessing of all: His Son!

That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other;

Prayer Request January 2009

We are constantly confronted with problems. It is difficult to let go and let God, but after having done our part, we have to give it over to Him.

Often, pride will prevent us from doing so. Letting God take over will strengthen our faith and assure us, that all will go just as He intended it to. All will work out for the best!

Prayer Request December 2008

As we gather together and open our Christmas gifts, let us not forget the reason for the season. There is not one present on this earth, that can even come close to the gift that God has blessed us with. Let us rejoice and be thankful for the greatest gift of all.

Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
