Prayer Request June 2007

As long as we stay on the path God has laid out for us, we know we are safe and secure. Only the best will happen and awaits us, that is what God has in mind for us! When we get off track, that's when we need to worry. Nobody can get us off track but us ourselves, and it's good to daily examine and judge ourselves, to see if, when and where we left the path and get back on track as quickly as possible.

Jeremiah 21:8
“Now you shall say to this people, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death."

Please pray for the Johnsons. They are having another baby today.

Trevor contracted dengue hemorrhagic fever earlier this season, so his family faces some heightened risks, and could use some providential favor, safeguarding and blessing. Lord willing, I might visit sooner or later.

Thanks for your attention.

Father, what a beautiful blessing little Alethea is! Please heal her mother after such a long labor and provide this family with an extended period of good health.

Please, please provide healing for Billy and faith for his frightened family. Give wisdom and quick solutions to the doctors to guide them and immediate healing for this child.

In your son, Jesus' name, I pray. Amen!

We got this request forwarded by e-mail:

"Prayer request for Gary and Cindy Hogan - Members of Bon Air Baptist, Richmond, VA

Gary is serving in Iraq while his young wife is fighting cancer here.
Prayer is a powerful thing.
Bobby S. Briggs, MSgt, USAF
823 ESFS/SFOC
Flight Sergeant
BAGHDAD AB, IRAQ

My name is Gary Hogan. Some of you receiving this know me, some do not.

My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been diagnosed 3 days ago with stage 4 cervical cancer and her chances for survival are very slim.

She was pregnant with our second child and had miscarried recently at 3 months, and now we know why.

This is a request for you to forward this e-mail to everyone you know asking for prayer.
The more people that pray for her to be healed, the better.
Pray and forward. It only takes a second to hit "forward".
Please do it and don't delete this, your prayer can, and perhaps will, save her life. Please pray and ask everyone you know to pray for the HEALING of Cindy and the removal of all cancer in her body, so she may enjoy all that life has to offer, and to continue to be the wonderful mother to our 5 year
old son, Michael.

The power of Prayer is unsurpassed. I want the whole world to have her in their prayers the next few weeks. God will hear our cry.

Please do not be offended by my plea.. This is only a request for your help.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and helping with our request for healing! No words can express the power we have when we each do a little to come together.

Thank you, and please send it to the far reaches of our world.

Regards, Cindy's in-love husband - Gary

To the world, you might be one person, but, to one person, you might be the world."

On a serious note, please pray for my sister. She is having inflammation in her lymph nodes on her neck, which is ironically the same place where my mom has cancer as well. We think it's just an infection, and she will have blood work to test it performed.

On a funny side-note, I had an Internet-surfing-related injury. I just fell out of my desk-chair as I leaned back too far, knocked the brace loose holding the backrest to the chair, flew down to the floor, and unfortunately had my buttucks impaled by the metal rod that supports the chair, and now I sport a 4-inch gash across my backside, and anticipate another scar for my scar collection. I bruised my elbow on the way down as well, and hit my head on the back of my architectural drafting table. I'm in a lot of bloody pain right now. So, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. On the bright side, I am glad it missed my spine.

I'll spare everyone the "Please pray for my butt" line. Oh wait, I just said it. I'm trying to find humor in this. My life is comical in a Three Stooges sorta way sometimes. :-)

I called my mom and got her to bandage the wound. Now, my upper-left backside is swollen around the the puncture wound gash and I am trying an ice compression pack. I am still greatful it missed my spine. Yeah. Ewwwwwwwwwwww... I probably shouldn't have mentioned it anyway. I'll heal. I was just venting because of my pain and misfortune.

I might need stiches and a tetanus booster shot to stave off infection. How long do those things last anyway?

My sister is the serious prayer request... not me.

Not that it matters, but I meant lower-left backside. I am incoherent, and took pain-pills, and I will sign off Internet, and goto sleep soon for rest of afternoon. Sorry to clutter everyone with these messages.

On the positive side, I will hopefully be moving soon to a new town in a new state with a new job on the way. I trust providence will aid me in my endeavors. I am not sure, and prefix all of my aspirations Lord willing, of course, but I might reconsider saving for law school and picking up where I left off, and set my sights on being an attorney and passing the bar. I realize I can embrace the call to discipleship even if I do not pursue vocational ministry. I wrestle with my long-term ambitions, and I seek wisdom and direction from above.

And he put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God; numbers have seen it with fear, and put their faith in the Lord. (Psalm 40:3)

Father, I may have everything around me going crazy but I know that You're just there for us... for me. In here are prayer requests of people, people who are in dire need. I know that we are important to you, Lord. I lift every need here in this prayer room and i'm asking You, Lord, deliver each of us in the pit we're in. Nothing is too hard for you, God, and we believe in You. I pray for breakthroughs in each of our lives. I pray for deliverance. I declare favor over our lives. Bless each of us here. We love you, Lord, and we glorify Your name. In the name of Your precious Son, Jesus, we ask all these, amen.

Your words are very correct! I get off track when I'm in the God's Word daily. When I'm not praying and turning everything in my life over to Him.

Father, we lift up the Wilhoite family to You. We ask for healing, strength and comfort as they endure this trial. Their faith is an example to all of us and we ask You to keep strengthening them in it and may You bless them abundantly as only You can. All in accordance with Your will. In Jesus' precious name we ask. Amen!

My mother-in-law asks for your prayers for her brother, who is being tested for colon cancer, and for her sister, who has Parkinson disease. If you would please remember them in your prayers? Thank you so much.
