Prayer Request January 2007
With a whole new year ahead, unknown to us how that may unfold, we often try to lead and control it the way we would like it to go with plans, good intentions, decisions and commitments. But every new beginning, whether that is a new life, career, a move, a new year or even a new day, can only be fruitful and come to a glorious end in and with Our Savior!
A Happy and very blessed New Year, dear brothers and sisters!
Revelation 21:6
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.

Father, I praise you and thank you for your great love, care and mercy toward us. I ask that you please bless and keep Matthew and guide his steps on this journey. Would you bless all your mission servants with strength and courage, fill then with hope and grant them peace. I ask this only according to your will and in Jesus precious name. Amen.
Please pray for U.S. Army specialist Andrew Rippe. He's been through a terrible ordeal. He served in Iraq and just came back, only to get struck by a car in front of his grandmother's house, not once but twice, and he was then dragged under the second vehicle. The 25-year old young man is in serious condition in a New Jersey hospital.
Father, i pray for andrew rippe. i hope this is not too late yet. but i ask you, dear God, to comfort him and his family. God, please save him... in Jesus' name, amen.
Greetings in the name of our mutual Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Please pray for baby Emily Merricks. She is only four months old, and in serious condition. I am under the impression that she has a serious infection of some sort, viral meningitis in the brain. She has been MED-VACed to Roanoke, Virginia. Her father Brad just called at 3:30 AM this January 23rd, and my brother will perhaps visit soon. They are close family friends, and Amanda grew up in my home church.
My heart goes out for this child and her parents. And we should continue to lift up Nan's family in bereavement over dear Abby. Words are sometimes tough to come by... I find it difficult and risk being unintentionally insensitive to try and console someone with mere platitudes and words, but my heart tells me that the mournful should seek and find consolation in the promises of God and in his immutable Word. For this reason, John MacArthur's book Safe in the Arms of God may offer some comfort for those in bereavement, as it is rooted in the Scriptures.
"You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful."
—James 5:11
The fragile nature of life reminds us how precious life truly is, and more importantly why we should be imbued with an eternal perspective. Life is a vapor! Let us live life for our blessed Savior, and savor the greater glory and riches to come in Christ Jesus! The intangibles—that is to say faith, family and good friends are what define and give meaning to life.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
—Matthew 19:14
Father I ask that you please bless Emily and her family according to your love and mercy. You know my hearts desire for her healing and that all would glorify you in her recovery and I beg this if you are willing.
I ask again the comfort and hope for Nan’s family that can only come from you to us in Christ Jesus. You know the need of each one in her family and again I beg, if you are willing, to grant each what’s needed in order to be filled with that comfort and hope.
Thank you so much for Bro. Ryan and for the desire of his heart and for all who join with us to come to you for all we need and hope for.
I praise you and thank you in Jesus precious name. Amen.
