Prayer Request December 2006

December, a time where many reflect and look back on their life, the past year, the past time and set goals for the present and future. Many will face mountains in their path that seem impossible to climb. But it's also a month of joy, remembering God's greatest gift to us, knowing that with His strength we can overcome all.

Matthew 17:20
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

I have a prayer request. Can I request it here? I just received this email about my friends mother, Karen. She was in a motorcycle accident months ago and is still recovering.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to keep you in the loop. The filter removal procedure is set for Monday December 11, at 11am at Westchester Medical Center . It is an outpatient procedure which Dr. Yelon says actually only takes about 20 minutes. There is some sedation involved so I will most likely be there several hours. So please keep that date in mind and keep your prayers going. I have an appointment with the ortho surgeon at 8:30 that same day so we only have to make the trip in once, which is a good thing. Thanks to all,

Love Karen

Thanks,
Steph

Thank you so much for posting that request for Abby, I appreciate it more than words can say. I also wanted to give you an update: This morning I spoke with my family, who told me that Abby "cried" last night and that her arms were twitching, which we saw to be signs that
she was coming out of this. This morning we found out, however, that it was likely that it was just the vent making the sounds and that all the twitching indicates that Abby has another infection. She had a "rough night" last night according to what I've been told and they are
thinking it will take 5 days to find out what is wrong with her now. Please pray hard for my poor little neice. She is fighting so hard...

He is in control...

Please be in special prayer for those family and friends in bereavement of this precious child Abby. I very much believe that she is safe in the arms of the Lord now, just as my other brother my family lost in 1986 is. I am at a loss for words now... I will be praying.

Father, we ask for Your comfort and strength for Nan's family in their struggle. May You be with them in all they go through.

We also ask Your healing hand on aunt Jojo. May Your blessings be upon her and her family.

May Your blessings be on the apps Ryan put in and may You open the door for him that You would like him to go through.

We also ask Your grace and mercy on Audrey's mom. May You take away her pain and even heal her. All is possible in You. Please, strengthen and comfort Audrey and her family in these difficult times.

Father, please protect Karina and her twins. Grant them the time to carry out this pregnancy till the babies are strong and healthy. We also ask Your blessings on her family, who do all they can to help.

All this we ask in Jesus' precious name. Amen!

Patrick's test came in positive. The cancer has shrunk to less then 1 cm, which indicates that the chemo helped and no surgery is needed anymore. They will keep him under close watch for the coming year but the prognosis is encouraging. Thank you all so much for your prayers. A huge burden is lifted.

Father, our gratitude and humbleness are great concerning Patrick. Thank You for the healing You have and are giving him. Glory and praise be to You, Father. Words fall short for Your everlasting love, grace and mercy. Amen!!

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
—1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This is an admonition by the Apostle Paul that I would like to be more mindful of this holiday season. I inevitably fall short of God's glory, and I hope to become more selfless and Christlike in character all the same in the face of life's trials. I am a sinner, and I look to the tender merices of my Lord Jesus Christ. I lift up the burdens of the sick, afflicted, and grieved to my Lord.

May the Lord bless you all this Christmas season. Let us rejoice at the birth of our blessed Savior. I think it manifests our Lord's love for His flock, His meekness, and especially His humanity, that He would first appear in human flesh as an tiny infant wrapped in swoddling cloth in a manger in a barn. Our blessed Savior was "in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin" (Heb. 4:15). He was born of commoners, and yet He came from a line of kings. He was the King of Kings, but He lived a humble life as a carpenter before the advent of His earthly ministry.

Almighty God, most gracious Father I thank you so much for Ryan and for all in our little prayer group here. Please bless each one according to their need. I thank you so much for the eternal hope that we have through our wonderful Lord and Savior and for the certainty of your abiding love. You know my great desire for Nan and her family as well as their need. I trust you in this as in all things and beg that you would keep each one mindful of your presence according to your will.

You’ve been so good to us and blessed us in all our request. I don’t understand your answer at times but you’ve proved over and over it’s best. I praise you in all things and can only petition you in the precious name of Jesus and for His sake. Amen.

Your burdens are high and lifted up still.

I realize there are others with burdens much heavier than mine, and my heart goes out to those in mourning. At the dawn of 2007 my hope and prayer is that the Lord would work in my life mightily, and likewise to shepherd me through the dark vallies of life. I hope to work towards my goals, and in the end, that the Lord's will be done and not my own. For this reason, I seek His direction. I seek His forgiveness for my shortcomings, and look to His grace that I might grow and progress in sanctification all the more. May the Lord mold me into an admirable man of God. I'm a sinner, and I look to the tender mercies of my blessed Savior Jesus Christ. My desire is to be a more faithful ambassador of Christ, and to better exemplify His teachings in my life and deeds. I can come out an offer that conventional testimony about not being that bad of a person, but I need the humility to pray as a Publican. May I leave my pride, sin, and self-righteousness at the foot of the Christ, and lay hold of the imputed righteousness of my Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for me, and I will continue to lift up your burdens as well. Thanks.

God, be merciful to me a sinner!
