Prayer Request September 2006
It is such an encouragement and comfort knowing there is a family in Christ praying in unity, responding to a prayer-request or asking for prayer. Even when it is for a total stranger. Sometimes it's hard to find the right words or to know the real need but even in this God's provision made sure He would hear every one of them.
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Please pray for my friend Mike Waddell, and his wife Katie. He is speaking in church today in San Francisco, and he is involved in an on-going ministry. I went to college with him and he grew up a half-hour away from me. He is a humble guy, and could certainly use the Lord's guidance and direction.
Please remember my mother Glenda. She has just had comprehensive examinations/scans of muscular-skeletal structures which show signs of deterioration, and we're still hoping for a good prognosis, simply meaning that this report is not indicative that cancer has spread to her bones. I understand that this happens with some lymphoma patients, and its not a good prognosis. I lift up her burdens to Jehovah-Rophe, the Lord who Heals. In spite of her affliction, my mom is still working as a R.N. and raises money for cancer research.
For I am the Lord who heals you.
—Exodus 15:26
I've been in communication with pastors in the deep south who are helping me out. I've contemplated moving to the vicinity of Tampa Bay, Mobile, and Houston. I know pastors in both Mobile and Houston that are helping me out now with information and leads. One might pass off some resumes. I could use wisdom and discernment and the kind hand of providence in my search. I confess anxiety about the future, but my regional job market is dead, and I need to leave. I've decided northern Virginia is too expensive, so I am going south.
But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
—Mark 4:38-40
God often has to lay us on our back to get our attention. He has my attention! May, I be still and listen, and look to the Lord to strengthen my faith when tempest storms of life come my way. Right now, I want to follow the call to discipleship, and not half-heartedly, or on my own terms, but whereever He leads. God has equipped me with the resources. I certainly don't need to bury my talents, or resist having learned from Jonah. I can teach and preach, and I need to cultivate those gifts. The hardest thing I see is sanctification and consistency. I am a sinner, and I look to the tender mercies of my Lord Jesus Christ. I saw that the Lord turned Saul to Paul; and I know He can use me in spite of me.
In the end, thy will be done Lord, and not my own.
Father, we lift up Mike and Katie to You. May You give them guidance and leadership in their ministry and bless their work.
We also ask You to reach out to Glenda and touch her with Your healing Hand, that You may stop this illness and grant her a quick and full recovery. We ask You to strengthen and bless her in and for all the good work that she still is able to do.
Father, guide and lead Ryan to where You want him to be. Give him wisdom and patience and show him the door You want him to go through. Strengthen, encourage and bless him in his calling and abilities, determination and commitment to serve You.
All in accordance with Your Will, in Jesus' precious Name, we pray. Amen.
The Value of Self-Sacrificial Service: The Example of Queen Esther - A Pilgrim's Progress
As prayer warriors, we should look to the example of Esther that we might learn the value of sacrificial giving (Esther chapter 4). This familiar story of a remarkable woman of faith very much foreshadows Christ's love for the church (ekklesia) spoken of in the New Testament. It is good to revisit from time to time.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
—Romans 5:7-8 (NKJV)
Hi friends, my mother has been unwell recently with a sore back, and she went to have the x-ray done yesterday, and the result showed that she has degenerative osteroporosis. She's taking anti-deflamatory medicine. Pray that she'll get well soon.

Heavenly Father,
I lift up the burdens of Kitty's mother to You and I pray that Your healing hand would be upon her. May you alleviate her burdens, heal her pain, and draw her closer to you during this time.
In Jesus' Precious Name,
Amen!
Heavenly Father,
I lift up the burdens of the 9/11 victims to you Lord, and those many widows and orphans in bereavement, and those afflicted with injury. May you give them the peace that surpasses all understanding, and use this unfortunate adversity to draw them closer to you. May you give them peace in the Gospel and the promises of Your Word.
I pray these things,
In Jesus' Name,
Amen!
I would like to ask your prayers for Patrick and Noor. Patrick is going into the hospital this Thursday and will have surgery. We hope and pray that all they will find is just scar-tissue and no more cancer.
Father, we lift up Ryan's and Kitty's moms. May You give them healing and a quick recovery.
We also pray for the victims of 9/11. All those afflicted have different needs. Only You know what that is. May You give them each what they need, in accordance with Your will.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen!
Dear Heavenly Father
We lift up all our relatives and friends who are having cancer.
Lord, the pain is very real and excruciating at times.
Some of them can't eat nor sleep.
They are losing weight.
In moments like this, we just need to surrender them to You.
Please comfort them.
May they feel Your peace, love and presence in their lives.
May they accept You into their lives as their Personal Saviour.
Please teach us to trust You when we just don't know what to do.
You're our able and sovereign Lord.
Oh Lord.
Please be with Noor and Patrick.
Please heal Patrick completely and speedily.
Thank you, Lord.
Thank you, Jesus.
In Jesus' most mighty and precious name, we pray. Amen!
Please pray for Mark, the son of one of our prayer-partners,
Mark isn't doing so well, and needs extra prayers. He didn't pass the test at Ft. Campbell for air assault, so they sent him back to Ft. Riley. Today one of his buddies called us, asking if we've heard from him in the past couple of days. Anyway, turns out he decided to take a "vacation". His father was able to talk with him by phone, but he wouldn't say where he is. Just doesn't seem to care about consequences or anything. Told his father he'd probably go back in a few days. I really don't know what's going on inside his head. All we can do is pray. Thanks.
Father, we ask You to guide and lead Mark and to encourage him with and in Your love, hope and faith. Give him peace in his distress and strengthen him to do his part. We also ask You for strength and comfort for his family, may their concerns be lifted soon. All in accordance with Your will, in Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen!

Father, we ask you to protect the Johnson family, to keep them safe and to bless them in all they do. May many be led to You due to the Johnson's wonderful works and all the other missionaries all over this world. May You shield them from harm and surround them with Your love. In Jesus' precious name, Amen!
Trevor, the Indonesian missionary I mentioned earlier, has been afflicted with on of those potent Indonesian fevers and has a 104 degree temperature. Please pray that the Lord would heal him, alleviate his pain, and especially protect their son from such bugs since he is just a toddler. Thanks.
Father, we ask you for a quick healing and full recovery for Trevor and Your protection for his family. May Your mercy and grace be upon them and comfort and strengthen them as they go through this. In Jesus' precious Name, we pray. Amen.
Most gracious heavenly Father I place all of my hope and trust in Your love, mercy and providence. Please bless Your servant Trevor and his family even to heal him and protect his family from disease. Through Jesus Your Son I beg this according to your perfect will.
Loving Eternal Father, I join with Ryan, Corry, Kc and all my fellow prayer warriors here - to pray for your dear servant Trevor, his family and especially his toddler. Lord, please heal Trevor from his temperature, protect them and watch over them. May your peace and joy be with them. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen!
Rayn, please keep us informed of Trevor's condition.
Just stopping by to say that I am still praying! And I miss you guys a lot. I hope you are well!
We would like to ask your prayers for Noor and Patrick.
Patrick had surgery yesterday. It took 8 hours and they had to stop because he lost 4 liters of blood. The doctors had said they would remove everything but they only removed one part and Patrick will have to have another surgery done to remove the other part. We don't know yet if what is removed is cancer or scar-tissue. Patrick seemed to be doing well after surgery but the disappointment and the uncertainty are great.
Please remember them in your prayers. Thank you so much.
