Prayer Request April 2006

God gave His only begotten son, who took on our sins, so we could have everlasting life. Nailed to the cross, shedding His blood and giving His life for us, Christ was the ultimate sacrifice. He rose from the grave after three days and now sits at the right hand of God, the Father, till He returns. Words fall short to convey our gratitude, but God knows our hearts and hears our prayers. Thank You Father!

Isaiah 53:5
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

We're blogging and praying for each other here because our Heavenly Father loves us, we love Him and we love each other.

We love because He first loved us.

His love endures forever.

Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Lord.

Amen!

James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

I love that last verse. It's been handing up on my wall above my mirror for a couple of years now and it never fails to leave an impression on me. Thank you to both of you for being such compassionate supporters of those in need of prayer out here in the blog-world :) Thank you for these little reminders that add up to so much. God bless you both!

Please, pray for Patrick. He is Noor's boyfriend (our daughter)and was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. After surgery he was cured but still had to come back regularly for check ups. This morning, they learned the cancer has come back and spread through the lymph-knots to his stomach. He will have to have chemo-therapy and next week will be decided when it starts. The recovery-chance is 98%, which is good, but still!
May God give them strength and bless them as they go through this and grant a full recovery.

Lord, please give Kitty peace and Kris as well.

Guys, I appreciate what you do here. Can you pray for me? I am upset over something at church and with my brother who is also a newer member there. My pastor said this from the pulpit Sunday: "God chose some to love and others to damn. If you believe it any other way, you have every reason to boast." My heart is so disturbed by this. I knew he held to this kind of thinking, but I have never heard it in a sermon quite that way. Those of you who know me know that I find that repugnant. If you don't know me, let me tell you: I find that repugnant. My relationship with my brother is becoming strained because he is buying into this kind of thinking - he acts like I am reading a different book than him (he just was saved last summer - I have been longing for someone in my family to be saved for the 20 years that I have been a Christian). Anyway, sorry to go on so much about it, but I am tormented. Also, I work at the church. Thank you for being available for this. I hope this was not an innapropriate kind of a prayer request - but I need peace; help me Lord.

Hi, it's me again! I feel quite trapped and tangled today. I find that I have expectations on people, and when they don't meet them, I get disappointed and upset. Please pray for me that I can be released from this problem -as it can drain my relationships with others. God has been helping me these last few days, but it seems that I've reverted into old pattern of thoughts again. Oh now I need all your prayers.

Thanks Nan, we love you too.

Please remember to pray for my church's sunrise service on Sunday morning. We use Easter weekend as an opportunity for a big evangelistic outreach. We put on a community sunrise service in the local Wal-Mart parking lot. Even though our church is only about 100 members, we generally have about 500 attend this service. Pray the gospel will go forth strong this year, and many people will put their trust in Jesus Christ. What better way to celebrate His resurrection?

I just learned of a Christian home where the father just committed suicide. It's a big shock to everyone involved. My good friend Kirk is best friends with the son. Pray for him to know what to say and know how to best help this dear family. Also, pray for the family to cope and rest in the strength of God to get through this. They are up in Michigan. Thank you.

Update on Patrick:
It is very uncertain right now whether it's cancer or another kind of tumor or maybe inflammation. The expectations are 99% to be cancer. The cancer-marks however are not showing up in his blood, which is extremely unusual and causes the insecurity. A biopsy will be planned next week and according to what the results are, chemo or other treatment will follow. Their insecurity is enormous. Please, keep praying for them. Thanks.

I need a job and I have to move out of the land of no opportunity (aka my hometown) to greener pastures. I am a broke and reluctant law school dropout who couldn't muster money and motivation for law school in 2004, but I have entertained the possibility of going starting back at law, finances pending. That maybe in a few years. I'm a twentysomething and still young I guess, but time keeps ticking.

I need patience in all things.

Hey guys, I could sure use your prayers. I've been experiencing chronic pain in my major joints (shoulders, hip) as well as myalgia (muscle pain) in my upper arms and legs. This has been going on for about 8 months. X-rays showed no arthritis and the blood panel just came back clear for Lyme's, Lupus, etc. The next step is a specialist, I guess.

It has become darn near impossible to get a decent night's sleep. And, as a remodeling contractor, the work I do is pretty physical. If I'm doing a job that requires me to be on my knees or work down low, I have to plan my trips to the floor, because getting back up is more than a notion. Hanging cabinets has gotten pretty tough, too. If some relief isn't forthcoming, a career-change will likey become necessary. This would be ok if I could find someone who would pay me to blog full-time. hehe What bugs me most is that I am completely unable to toss the ball around with my daughter, who is showing great promise playing second base on her school softball team. I'll be 43 next Friday. I feel twice that.

I appreciate your prayers. Thanks.

Heavenly Father I thank You for the many prayers You've answered here and for those who You allow to come here seeking our unity in pleading for Your blessings in their life and the lives of those they love. You know my desire for each of my sisters here and each of their needs and I will continue to trust You to provide for each one.

I thank you for Ryan and his testimony that he needs Your guidance. I pray You would bless him in accordance with your will and give him those things he needs to move forward in his life.

I ask You now to please bless my beloved brother. I am so ignorant Father and so helpless but you are all powerful and almighty. I beg You to please grant Dorsey healing and health and to provide for him in all ways during this trial. Would You comfort him even now if it pleases You.

I trust in Your word and Your perfect will in all things and ask these blessings in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
