Prayer Request October 2008

When we know, we did our part and have done all we could do, it is time to practise patience and rest in and with faith. We can and we should.

It may not be easy, but at times we have to let go and let God. He allows for it, so we can be recharged and enjoy all His blessings, while He works His perfect plan.

Ecclesiastes 2:23
For all his days are sorrowful, and his work burdensome; even in the night his heart takes no rest. This also is vanity.

Father, we lift up Ryan's roommate to You.

May You touch his heart with Your love, grace and mercy and may he be encouraged and led back to You in every way You see fit. Please, watch over him, while he is astray and protect him from harm and temptation.

We also pray You will continue to encourage and strengthen Ryan, in trying to reach his roommate to help him to turn back to You.
All in accordance with Your will. We humbly ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

We would like to ask your prayers for a friend of ours, who send us this request:

Hello everyone!
I'm lucky to have friends and family that will pray with me. I wish I had sent this earlier.

My mom-in-law way on a camping trip this weekend. She was riding her horse and it got spooked and threw her off. She broke her arm just below the shoulder where the ball joint is. It was a bad break and she had surgery yesterday. They put a plate in her arm.

The surgery went well and she says they might let her out tommorrow. She's in a lot of pain but while she's in the hospital they help manage it. I asked her how long it will take to heal. She said it'll be 6 months. Please pray that the Lord will comfort and heal her.

Also pray that I will take time to stop by and help her even if she says she doesn't need any help.

Please continue to pray for a friend, who has been charged with capital murder and has continued to plead his innocence. A store owner was robbed and brutally beaten. He was in a coma for months and came out of it, but he died shortly after. This friend was arrested and denied bail. He
has been in jail for over 7 months. His trial date was about to be set and the DA postponed it with some legal issues. Then, it became public knowledge that DNA evidence was found under the victim's fingernails and that
evidence was withheld from the grand jury. He still has not been given a trial date. He's only 24 years old and has a son who is 1 yr. old.

Thank you so much.

Dear Prayer Warriors,

I ask for prayer for newborn baby Bryson. My cousin gave birth on Saturday under an emergency c-section where the cord was knotted and wrapped twice around his neck. Mom & Dad were heroic in noticing all the right details at the right time - they really felt God's protection. Baby is still in NICU and we are awaiting news of any issues. Doctors & nurses say he is a little miracle. Please pray for this family in recovery and that their just-seeding faith grows!

Thank you so much for your prayers! I finally got an update on my cousin. Mom and baby are HOME!! They were released Wednesday evening. Bryson has jaundice and is being monitored, but all else seems well. An emergency c-section is not easy to recover from - the cuts are not made the same way a standard c-section is done, so all the tummy muscles are severed. Mom is in a lot of pain, and with three girls age 8, 2 and 1 as well as the newborn, she's already doing far more than she should. They don't really have a lot of people they can ask for help, and I am 2000 miles away. I ask if you can pray for God to bring many helpers to encourage and strengthen them. Thank you for your prayers, and please continue to pray for full recoveries for both mom & baby.

Dear Partners,
We received the following request from one of our sisters in Christ:

Would you please add 2 of my friends (members of our church) to your prayer list? Both are about my age—Judy Kegley has been told she only has a few months and Diana Hayes has been diagnosed with Leukemia and she is going thru chemo and will probably have to have a stem cell transplant. We are making maps showing where there are people praying for them, so with your permission I’ll add your location!

May God be gracious and mercyful and grant both of them complete healing.

Thank y'all so much for praying.

I am so grateful for this blog at times like this.

My baby sister, Andy, just called to tell me her husband, Rocky, had a heart attack! He is 38 years old and on Thursday will be having triple bypass surgery. They have had a difficult year with Andy's car wreck, and the death of both of Rocky's parents. PLEASE pray for them and their three children. This is a very frightening situation.

Lord, i pray for the needs of judy and diana. Lord, you said that by Jesus' stripes we are healed. Lord, you are no respecter of persons. if you did it for others, you can certainly do it for both judy and diana. Lord, i ask that you strenthen them as they go through medical procedures. i pray for provision to be upon them too. Lord, i pray for their families as well. keep them strong in facing this trial in their lives.

Father, i'm standing in agreement with the prayer of healing for both judy and diana. you said in your word "for where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Father, thank you for hearing our petitions. surely, it is for your glory when they're healed.

Lord, i also lift up to you andy. God, i plead the blood of Jesus of andy's family. i pray for your divine protection to be upon each of them. i pray, Lord, that you guide the hands of the doctors who will perform surgery to andy. God, i pray for your deliverance.

Father, i pray that you show the people around us your mighty power that all the glory will be to our Almighty God. thank you that nothing is impossible with you and nothing is impossible to those who believe.

all this i pray, in Jesus' mighty name, amen.

I just want to thank each one of you for the prayers!

My brother-in-law, Rocky, went into surgery at 8:15am. She called me at 11:45am to report success!

Can you believe that - 3.5 hours for a quintuple bypass??

I cannot think it was anything less than God's hand. I am still awaiting word that Rocky has woken up, but all the news is great so far!

Please continue to pray for an uneventful recovery and continued health for Rocky & Andy. I lift up praise for your prayers and for God's loving care of us all!
