Prayer Request December 2005

December is the month that we celebrate the birth of God's only begotten Son into this world, to be sacrificed for our sins. May we always be mindful and grateful for this glorious sacrifice and never cease to follow in the footsteps of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Father, hear our prayers and answer them according to Your Will. Praise to You, for all the prayers You have already answered. You are a gracious and merciful God.

1 John 4:9
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

"Latest email:

Bob Cryder update: I don't know how else to say this, but just received word that Bob Cryder is slipping away. Tim and Heather, family and close friends are with Bob, Jenny and family. Please pray for all of them. Jenny shared that they have made him comfortable. We need to remember that the Lord is in control, even when we don't understand."

Update from Curious Servant:

"Update, Noon Sunday:

The doctors say that while the cancer is gone, Bob's body can not fight the infection he has in his lungs and brain. The only thing that can save him is a miracle.

While he was in stable condition this morning, there is hope only in God."

Lord, I want to hear Your voice better, to have a more firm and stead-fast walk, to see with eternity's perspective - that eternal weight of gold far beyong all comparison. Work out what You would have for our family this Christmas and for next year. What are Your plans for this adoption? Wasn't this all Your idea? Also, be with two doctors at my hospital who have lost patient's recently - that they would turn to You,God during this hard time and that You would see them through, and protect them. Thank you!

Father, thank you for these people who take time to pray for each other. You said in your word, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." thank you, Father, for this promise. i know that you hear us and you know our hearts. i lift up to you everyone here and the others too who are in need. may we all experience your peace and your joy as we walk this life. Father, i believe that you are the same yesterday, today and forever. you came through for me before, i know you can do it again and for the others too who desperately needs you now. guide us, Father, in everything we do. all these things i pray, in Jesus' name, amen.

Kristi also has a sister who is on the mission field. Please continue to remember her. We are also in contact with a couple who will soon be leaving to do mission work. I've asked permission to post their reports here so that we can support them in prayer. The response: "I would count it an honor to be prayed for by those who are praying at needprayer.com"

They are currently in the visa process and need our prayers.

"We got a call from the Consulate today!!! We have been approved in reference to our visas. Pretty amazing how God worked it. This whole week we've been doing some hands on safety training, which means we have not been able to take our cell phone nor computer with us to training. Our cell phone is the only way the Consulate can contact us. Just yesterday we finally had time to get more minutes. Today was the first day we carried our phone with us (and actually had it on). We got out early from our sessions today because most of us still had one more round of shots. As soon as we got back to our quad, our phone started ringing. The Consulate told us that we had been approved. That is the good news. However, they also requested that we come back and pick it up. We had asked them to UPS it to us and provided postage and an envelope. We need our visas in hand before Wednesday in order to be ticketed for our Dec 30 flight. But we can not go except maybe on Tuesday. If we can, we would like to get this flight out so we will not be late for language school. Thanks for your prayers. We will keep you updated.

Blessings,
B and R"

"My Lord Jesus, deliver Matt from the abuse of the enemy, from the enemy's camp, from the perspective that the enemy wants him to have about himeslf, about the world, about people. Deliver him and heal him and build him up to stand upon Your shoulders, to see all the things that You might show him. To go where You say, to love with Your heart, to do what You do, so that all may know, on earth, above the earth and below the earth that it is the Lord Jesus who reigns and delievers, Who is and was and always will be, Who does what He wants upon the earth, Who hears the hearts of men and women and babes. By Your strips we are healed and are renewed. All that we see isn't the way that it is." There is only 1% that we see. Will you pray for Matt also, no matter where he ends up living, whether with us or not.

I would like to ask prayer for this situation that I read here:

I do need prayer for two very sad situations. First is my nephew, who has RSV at six months of age and is just so very sick that no one really knows for sure what will happen. The second is for two teenage girls whose mom recently perished in a car accident. They are estranged from their father, and it looks like my friend is going to be adding them to her already full house. They have six children there already, so this will bring the grand total up to eight, with five being between 12-14 years old. So the prayers here need to be many. For my friend who lost her best friend, for the daughters who lost their mom, and for the situation itself. My friends are open to adopting these girls into their family, and trust that if it's what God has for them He will handle the details. But no one in the wake of all this grief and pain anticipates this being an easy transition for anyone. I will keep ya all updated, and if you believe in prayer or have prayer chain I'd appreciate the thought.

We would like to share this update on Pia's mother with you:

"Here's an email I got from my sis 10 minutes ago about my mom:

Blood pressure is still up, they have given her series of nicardipine drips to stabilize her BP. Blood sugar fell from 500+ to 88, so you can just imagine the big drop and the effect it has again on her body. Our priority now is to stabilize her BP so her heart won't exert more effort in pumping blood."

Father, we ask Your blessings on all of them. Strengthen them as they go through this trial, heal Pia's mother and ease the burdens that way so heavily on Pia and her loved one. In Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen.

We just spoke with Pia and she's so very upset. Her mother continues to have problems and now it seems her kidneys are not functioning well. Pia is so afraid and feels so alone. I know you're all in prayer. Please continue.

Pia's Mother is stable and they're waiting for test results. Pia sounded very hopeful. We're so thankful.

Crystal the social worker who seems to be in charge of determining the family that Matt will be adopted into, wants to meet with me when I will be in Louisville this Monday. Pray that all the details for getting to the meeting itself goes well and uneventfully, and that the meeting with her is God-blessed. Pray God's will regarding the adoption of this precious boy into our fold.

From B & R:

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas this year. May you have a blessed New Year. If all goes as planned and by God's grace we will be spending New Years in (abroad). We leave on Dec 30 and will arrive on Dec 31 local time. We leave around 2PM (CST)on Friday and arrive approximately 4AM (CST) or 1130AM local time.

We have been blessed with your prayers. The interviews are over. The cermenious affirmations are over. The training is over. The work now begins. Remember you are a vital part of our team. "The angel fetched Peter out of prison, but it was prayer that fetched the angel." -Thomas Watson in Fetching the Angel quoted in Jan Karon's A Continual Feast.

Please pray for us that we will have safety in flight. There has been a winter storm going on in (abroad). Pray that we adjust as quickly as possible and that we learn (the language) quickly also. Pray for comfort for our families as we leave. And most importantly pray that God will prepare the hearts of the () people we will meet and that we will be able to speak to their need.

We do not know how long it will be before we are able to communicate by phone or email. We will let everyone know as soon as we can.

With all blessings,
B&R

Dear Lord

Thank you so much for this new year. Thank you so much for all Your great blessings last year.

We pray for Your love, grace, mercy, joy and peace to be with us and our loved ones in this new year. Teach us to obey You and have a more intimate walk with You in 2006.

Heavenly Fateher, we pray that Your Healing Hands will be upon KC's back now. Please remove all the pain and discomfort. May KC be able to walk, sit, work and sleep comfortably. Fill him with Your peace and joy. Heal KC totally.

In Jesus' most precious name we pray. Amen!
